This flanged end concentric butterfly valve adopts a classic centrally symmetrical structure. With the concentric design of the valve stem and the butterfly plate, it achieves rapid opening and closing as well as stable shut-off. The valve seat is made of high-performance elastic material, which forms a tight extrusion seal when the butterfly plate is closed, ensuring zero leakage performance under normal temperature and pressure conditions. The structure is simple and the flow resistance is extremely low, making it particularly suitable for water treatment, HVAC and general industrial pipeline systems.

What is Concentric butterfly valve: 
Butterfly valve is a type of quarter-turn valve that controls the flow of water by turning a lever or rotor on top of the valve. The most commonly used type is the concentric butterfly valve, also known as a zero-bias butterfly valve, where both the stem and the disc are located in the center of the valve body. It uses a rotating disk to control the flow of media, resulting in less resistance due to the thinness of the disc.  


How does it work(sealing): 
Concentric butterfly valve operates by adjusting the opening angle of the valve disk to control the flow of the medium. When the disk is parallel to the flow path, the medium can pass through unobstructed, and the valve is fully open. When the disk is perpendicular to the flow path, it completely blocks the flow, and the valve is fully closed. By rotating the valve stem, you can vary the disk's angle, thereby regulating the flow rate. In the closed position, the disk's edge presses tightly against the sealing ring on the valve body's inner wall. The elastic deflection of the sealing ring creates a seal, preventing leakage of the medium.

What's the difference between concentric vs eccentric butterfly valve:

Core Structure The centers of the stem, disc, and valve body are aligned. The center of the stem is offset from the center of the disc and/or the valve body.
Sealing Principle Compression/Scraping Seal: Relies on the disc deforming the seat; constant friction during operation. Off-Seat/No-Friction Seal: The disc quickly detaches from the seat when opening and compresses only when closing; minimal friction.
Wear & Service Life Severe friction leads to faster wear and a shorter lifespan. Significantly reduced friction results in less wear and a substantially longer lifespan.
Suitable Applications Low pressure, ambient temperature, general sealing requirements (e.g., water treatment). Broader range. Double Eccentric: Medium temperature & pressure. Triple Eccentric: High temperature, high pressure, critical sealing (e.g., key pipelines in oil & gas, chemical industries).
Sealing Materials Primarily soft seals (rubber, PTFE), limited by temperature. Wider selection. Double/Triple eccentric can use metal hard seals, resistant to high temperatures.
Operating Torque Higher break-away torque; operation is relatively more demanding. Lower operating torque; easier and lighter operation.
